This recording is a formal interview with Iakov Shor, who was born 1926 in Orhei. (Part 2 of 3. See MDV 338 and Accession # 09-010.60-F MDV 792 Zhytomyr collection) He talks about the Jewish town Orhei in Moldova and the surrounding wine region before the war. He then recalls his private Jewish education at home. He talks about Jewish religious life in Orhei. He remembers how he celebrated the Sabbath and Jewish holidays like Chanukah at home. He then discusses Jewish cultural life in Orhei, in particular Jewish weddings. The conversations turns to information about Yiddish-speakers in the region of Berdychiv and there is a discussion of Jewish life after the war in Berdychiv.
